This is a reshare from August 2021, a time that now feels both distant and deeply familiar. At that point, we had only lived in our new home in Texas for about five months. Everything around us was new—the town, the people, the routines, the entire rhythm of life. While we knew God had planted us here for a reason and were grateful for His provision, settling in was no small task. We were trying to build a life, not just for ourselves but for our kids and my mother-in-law, all while navigating the unknowns that come with starting over.

Through it all, we trusted God. And as He always does, He provided.

Finding this post in my archives was a powerful reminder of faith in the waiting and the importance of gratitude in every season. I hope as you read this old post from 2021, it encourages you in your prayers and strengthens you in your own season of waiting. God is there. Talk to Him. He is working for you.

Waiting on God

There are moments in life when I wish God would just send me a quick text with the answers I need. It would save so much time, worry, and second-guessing! But faith doesn’t work that way. Instead, we are called to trust—especially when the path ahead feels uncertain.

In this ever-changing world, it often feels like the solid ground beneath our feet is shifting. What we once believed to be certain now seems unclear. How do we make the “right” decision when nothing feels stable?

The truth is, our human understanding is limited. We don’t see the full picture—but God does. He is always working behind the scenes, orchestrating every detail for our good, even in seasons of waiting. This is the essence of faith: trusting that God’s timing is perfect, even when we don’t understand it.

The Struggle of Waiting

Waiting is hard. It challenges our patience and stretches our faith. I’ve wrestled with it countless times, especially when making decisions that affect my entire family. Moving from place to place without a clear direction has tested me beyond words. The only thing I can do is pray—and I hope that’s enough.

God and I have had plenty of deep conversations. I’ve cried out in frustration, wrestled with anxiety, and questioned His plan. My worries have overwhelmed me more times than I can count. And yet, no matter how many times I fall, I always find myself on my knees again, surrendering it all back to Him.

How often have we prayed for something, only to realize later that God had answered in ways we didn’t expect? How many times did we think everything was falling apart, only to see later that things were actually falling into place? God is always working, even when we can’t see it.

God Never Leaves Us

Even with unwavering faith, life still brings heartbreak, loss, and confession. We all experience disappointment and bad news. We live in a broken world, and pain is a part of our earthly journey. But through it all, God remains faithful. Only God can turn our pain into victory.

I used to wish for a life without struggle, but I’ve come to realize that it’s in the hard seasons that I grow the most. Trials refine us, strengthen us, and mold us into the people God created us to be. Just like a piece of art is carefully shaped and crafted, we, too, are being formed by our walk on this earth.

So, hold on. The road may be bumpy, but God never leaves your side. He walks through the valley all the way. I know this because I live it.

Declare This Truth Over Your Life:

📖 God is my Rock. He was, is, and always will be my foundation.

📖 God is my Refuge. He shelters me in life’s storms and protects me from the enemy.

📖 God is my Strength. Through every difficulty, He builds my character and refines my faith.

Don’t Let Waiting Steal Your Joy

If we let the uncertainty of life consume us, it will drain our joy, weaken our hope, and leave us bitter, frustrated, and angry. Impatience and resentment can cloud our minds so much that we miss what God is doing. We have to find the silver lining.

When we focus too much on what we lack, we risk overlooking the blessings unfolding right before us. The secret is to be grateful. If we let the noise of fear and frustration take over, we may not hear God’s gentle voice guiding us in the right direction in life. We will miss all the good right in front of us.

Even when we don’t feel Him, God is working on our behalf. His plans are always for our good.

The Lesson in the Waiting

Waiting is one of the hardest things we will ever do and most relatable. But in my own experience, I’ve learned that waiting teaches us patience, deepens our trust, and reminds us that we are not in control—God is.

There have been moments when I wanted to act in frustration, to lash out, to blame others when things didn’t go my way. But I’ve learned that true faith means surrendering those feelings and trusting that God is up to something greater than I could ever imagine.

Maybe you and I are being tested at times. Maybe this waiting is preparing us for something better. Maybe God is refining us. Whatever the reason, I know this:

📖 “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.” – 2 Timothy 1:7

📖 “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me… For when I am weak, then I am strong.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9-11

So, if you are in a season of waiting, hold on. God is working things out in ways you can’t yet see. Trust in Him. He is your Rock, your Refuge, and your Strength—yesterday, today, and forever. In the meantime, pray, and give thanks. I promise just hat will be enough to change everything.
