Finding Myself, Authentically Through Christ

There’s a storm that comes when you try to be everything for everyone. You bend, you please, you pour out until you’re empty. I’ve lived in that space, and I know how quickly it leads to overwhelm. The truth is, balance only comes when you learn to say no without guilt — and yes, it’s hard.

But a pure, peaceful life starts here: confidence in who you are, purpose rooted in God, and the ability to share your life in ways that actually serve others, not drain you. I’ve learned (sometimes the hard way) that I can answer those questions truthfully:

  • Where do I find my value?
  • Do I have peace?
  • Do I trust God’s promise for me?

And the answer is yes — not because I never stumble, but because I know when I’ve drifted off course. I see it, correct quickly, and return to Him.

True Peace Isn’t Out There

I don’t live for validation anymore. The world will tell you to chase money, likes, recognition, the next best thing. But it all fades. The only drive worth having is Christ-driven. His Spirit heals, steadies, and gives a peace so real that nothing can shake it.

Romans 8 says it best: “A mind led by the flesh is death, but a mind led by the Spirit is life and peace.”

That peace comes when you get honest with God about your struggles, your past, the rotten places you’ve tried to bury. Healing takes gentleness, but it also takes truth. And it begins with gratitude.

The Practice of Gratitude

The biggest weapon I’ve ever found against negativity is thankfulness. It resets your thoughts, breaks toxic loops, and shifts your energy. Start small. Write it in a journal. Pray it out. Thank Jesus for Himself first — and then let it spill everywhere else:

Thank You for my children’s laughter.
Thank You for my morning coffee.
Thank You for sunlight, conversation, learning, writing.
Thank You for a body that can move and a mind that can grow.

This isn’t bragging. It’s alignment. Gratitude is where peace lives.

Building Balance

The world celebrates “the hustle,” but it’s a lie. God built us for rest as much as work. That’s why I set routines that serve me: slow mornings, prayerful evenings, good food, sunshine, laughter, movement, learning, writing. Some days I say no to people, and some days they say no to me — and both are okay.

The enemy loves cracks. He loves chaos. But when I stay intentional, especially in the mornings, I walk into the day with calm instead of anxiety. Balance is protection.

Living Without Fear

I’ve moved across states, traveled the world, made decisions that scared other people. If I had listened to fear — theirs or mine — I’d still be stuck. Fear isn’t real. It’s smoke. Faith is what carries you through.

Every curve, every closed door, every detour — God has used them all. He wastes nothing. Even failure becomes a story that shapes who you are, softening your heart while strengthening your spirit.

The Ripple Effect

When you know who you are in Christ, you vibrate differently. Your energy changes. Gratitude and peace spill out of you and touch the people around you. That ripple effect is contagious. People see the light in you.

Motherhood has been my greatest calling, but even beyond that, I know my true purpose is to live fully as the woman God designed me to be — not who people expect, not who fear shapes, but who Christ calls.

And that’s freedom. That’s peace.

A Question for You

Do you know that kind of peace?
Do you know the life you’re after?
Do you know God like that?

Be painfully honest. Dig into your struggles. Be gentle with yourself. Practice gratitude until it becomes your language. Change your mindset, and you will change your life.

Because when you live with Christ at the center, peace isn’t just possible — it’s promised.
