Intro:

I first wrote this poem in early 2024. I was in a weird headspace—not overwhelmed, just a little blah. One of those days where nothing feels especially wrong, but nothing feels especially right either. I was trying to remind myself that every day matters, even when it feels ordinary or off.

Looking back on it now, I see how much truth there is in this simple little piece. It’s not dramatic or flashy, but it’s real. Just like most of our days. Some days are hard, some are fine, and some are beautiful! But all of them are opportunities to show up, pray, love, and keep walking in purpose. That’s where God meets us.

So here’s to those “just another day” kind of days… because they’re actually more than just a day.💗

Today Is a Gift

Today’s just another spin around the sun—
Might feel like nothing new has begun.
Maybe you’re stuck, maybe you’re tired,
Wondering where the spark’s gone or why you feel uninspired.

Could be a good day, or a rough one too—
Depends on the wind, the mood, or the view.
But don’t go thinking you’re just drifting through,
Like a leaf with no roots, no purpose, no clue.

Start with a prayer, even if it’s small—
Ask for guidance, peace, and to stand tall.
Send a smile, a text, hold the door—
Little things that carry so much more.

Your hard work, your time, your learning and grit—
That’s what builds you, bit by bit.
You’re getting wiser with every hour,
Not weaker—stronger, with God-given power.

Don’t think your impact’s too small to see.
You show up daily—that’s bravery.
In how you live, in how you give—
You reflect the reason we’re meant to live.

Today’s not just passing you by.
It’s a gift, wrapped in breath and sky.
So offer thanks, take that step, and pray—
You’ve got purpose. You’ve got today.
