Is anyone else ready for winter? Feeling through fall vibes. I live in Texas where every day is over 100 degrees. I am ready for autumn but I know it escape my grasp. I would love a good spooky chill in the air and that is what inspired me to write a little poem to cool the temps.

Frosted Window

In the heart of winter’s grasp, behold, a world transformed, a tale untold. Gone are the sunsets’ hues of purple and red; the harvest moon now hides its head.

No more aspen trees, a canvas painted, leaves rustle not, their dance slows. The mornings now, with icy breath, embrace the land in frosty death.

Yet in this chill and beauty profound, a stillness, a silence, all around. The frozen earth gleams like glass, a tranquil scene, so peaceful, so vast.

Powder-like sugar, the snow descends, from gray skies, a dream transcends. No sound is heard, all life sleeps, in cozy homes, warm memories keep.

Nature’s lullaby, a hush so deep, in winter’s embrace, all souls do sleep. The world outside was a frozen domain, a canvas pure, devoid of stain.

Through snow-capped valleys, I wander slowly, in awe of winter’s enchanting show. The icy touch, a gentle caress, a wondrous world in a frozen dress.

With each step, a soft crunching sound, a symphony of solitude, unbound. And as the day gives way to night, the stars above shine cold and bright.

Oh, winter’s grace, a sight to behold, a season of magic, a story untold. So let us cherish this frozen art, for it’s here, at last, a masterpiece in the heart.

Not me, I mean. I know a lot of other people are ready for winter, yes, but I’m not one of them.

Honestly, Winter cold would probably kill me. My body wasn’t made for the freezing temps of that kind of cold. I was made for heat, I do well in the Texas heat that is making everyone else miserable. I am fine. Bu there is something about the coziness that the chill of Autumm and Winter bring and that’s what I love and miss here. I would take some of that right now.
