Changed by Faith

This post was originally written in November 2019. It served as a compilation of different poetry styles. All were drawn from the same piece. Now, I reshare it with the same love I had when I first wrote these words.

I had completely forgotten about this writing, and revisiting it reminded me how much I miss it! I think it’s time I explored poetry like this again—I’m not sure why I ever drifted from it. I hope you all take a moment to read and enjoy my love for Jesus through these words! ✨ Skelly

Changed Through Faith

Through fire, I’m changed.
Lost, then found—His hands shaped me.
New, yet still healing.

Forged through trials, shaped anew.
Ashes turned to strength, faith grew.
In the valley, light shone bright.
Through the storm, I found my sight.
Hope now anchors, steady, true.

Once I was lost, unsure and torn,
Through fire and faith, I was reborn.
No longer the girl you used to see,
God’s still shaping what I’m meant to be.

Changed.
Refined by fire,
shaped through trials and pain,
pressed, pulled, yet made whole once again.
I rise.

Through trials, I have been made new,
Reshaped by hands that test and mend.
The storms have carved my faith in view,
Through trials, I have been made new.
The past erased, the light shines through,
A broken soul, now whole to send.
Through trials, I have been made new,
Reshaped by hands that test and mend.

Through trials deep, my heart was shaped anew,
A soul once lost, now bathed in heaven’s light.
The winds of sorrow, storms that fiercely blew,
Have carved my faith and taught me how to fight.

The valleys dark, the hills so steep and wide,
Yet grace has led me, steady, hand in hand.
Through fire and rain, through tears I tried to hide,
Yet love refined me like the finest sand.

I feared the change, yet now I stand so free,
For every scar has turned to something bright.
The past is gone—God’s truth is guiding me,
No longer lost, I walk in faith and light.

If once you knew me, meet me now again,
For I am new, yet still His child. Amen.

Made New

In fire and grace, I rise again,
a soul once wandering, yet now am
steady, walking where He calls, not
bound by the weight of who I
once was. Shadows whisper, but I am who
He shapes, not lost, but found, I
stand in faith, trusting what I knew.

Seasons shift, and though I’m
not untouched by time, I am getting
stronger, wiser, unafraid to
step forward, though I still know
His path unfolds beyond what I see. Who
I was is gone—now God
writes my steps, my breath, what He made.
Not perfect, but purpose-filled, me
in His hands, still learning to
embrace the light I was created be.

Ode to Becoming

Oh, how the seasons have shaped me,
through fire, through storm, through quiet nights.
Once lost, uncertain, afraid of change,
but grace took hold, and now I rise.

The roads were winding, steep and cold,
valleys deep, the air so thin.
Yet every tear, each pressing weight,
chiseled away what once had been.

I feared the breaking, the sharp-edged pain,
the carving hands of time and trial.
Yet from the dust, from shattered things,
a soul reborn now walks in light.

Oh, hands that pressed me into form,
Oh, winds that whispered, “Keep your faith.”
You’ve pulled, refined, and lifted me,
a vessel shaped by love and grace.

I stand not who I was before,
but something stronger, something true.
A heart made whole, a spirit free,
forever held, forever new.
