Blind

I wonder what it would be like to melt your heart again?

Blind, you don’t see me.

But I’m here, right before your eyes.

Blind to your own lies.

You don’t touch me.

Shielding ourselves from what could be.

Too much past and not enough present.

Blind to what future we could hold.

You feel alone.

But I never felt.

You won’t see me and all that I’ve kept.

These fragile memories that I have wept.

The painful restatement linger in the air.

An aroma so pungent it sticks to our clothes.

I am here waiting to breathe some fresh air again.

Don’t squeeze your eyes shut so tight.

We are worth the fight.
