Lyric Challenge Day One

I have chosen the one the only Mr. John Fogerty. He was also lead singer and lead guitarist and song writer for the band Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR). THE BEST!! I personal love him for him many reason but one of the top reason I love him is his style of song writing! John Fogerty sang/wrote parables. I just love this! I have many favorites that take me back to my childhood, listening to my Dad’s records, not really understanding the gravity of the words that hit my ears.

FORTUNATE SON LYRICS

[Verse 1]
Some folks are born made to wave the flagOoh they’re red, white and blue

And when the band plays Hail to the Chief
Ooh, they point the cannon at you, Lord[Chorus ]
It ain’t me, it ain’t meI ain’t no senator’s son, son

It ain’t me, it ain’t meI ain’t no fortunate one, no

[Verse 2]
Some folks are born silver spoon in handLord, don’t they help themselves, no

But when the taxman comes to the doorLord, the house looks like a rummage sale, yeah

[Chorus]
It ain’t me, it ain’t me
I ain’t no millionaire’s son, no no
It ain’t me, it ain’t me

I ain’t no fortunate one, no

[Verse 3]
Some folks inherit star spangled eyes
Ooh, they send you down to war, Lord

And when you ask them, “How much should we give?”

Ooh, they only answer More, more, more!

[Chorus/Outro]
It ain’t me, it ain’t me

I ain’t no military son, son

It ain’t me, it ain’t me

I ain’t no fortunate one, one

It ain’t me, it ain’t me

I ain’t no fortunate one, no no no

It ain’t me, it ain’t me

I ain’t no fortunate son, no no no
